The Fire that wasn’t . . .

It looked as if we had a fire in the neighbourhood, but fortunately it was only nature sending us a wake-up-call . . .

Tiriltunga

En lite påaktet, men vakker liten plante –

Not a plant with a solid footprint, but nevertheless a beautiful little specimen.

Flying High!

Her en blomsterflue i flukt!
When light conditions are optimun, it’s kind of fun testing out the camera.
Here is a flower fly in flight!

Home of a Killer

It’s possible that visiting insects understand that they are in a ‘danger zone’, but I have no knowledge about how the insect brains are working. Perhaps he might be trying to see if danger is lurking, but – the camouflage works!  The sad truth is that the killer is sitting poised less than an inch right in front og him! (See green arrow!)

Summer Evening Atmosphere

Pictures from a late summer evening. Actually it was possible to walk only dressed in a relatively thin T-shirt.

Deadly Flower

I’m still visiting our fascinating friend from yesterday. Today he’s trying out another hunting technique, and since nets are for amateurs only, he’s hung himself by the hind legs stretching his arms forward at the ready and tries to look exactly like a flower!
Soon there will probably be someone coming to taste this new exiting ‘flower’ . . .
The black and red beatle to your left probably hasn’t seen him yet, but if he does, he’s got wings! So perhaps it’s a better strategy to wait it out . . .?

Living Dangerously!

Our killer friend from yesterday is still patrolling his hunting area looking for new possibilities! The poor little ant to the left is also on the prowl for something eatable, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t expect to be a dish himself?! Unfortunably I’m not in position to tell you the rest of the story?!  🙂
