A Winter Sun-up

There is somehow not that much to photograph during the pre-winter for a somewhat seasoned photographer – apart from Christmas decorations in the city streets; something most people have seen way too much of lately? And thus we are back to nature’s own
color play ?!  Unfortunately it is also the case that WORDPRESS about a year ago warned  that they would no longer support / maintain my ‘Old Classic Editor’ and that it would be shut down by the end of 2021. Unfortunately that is where we are these days ?!
And – that unfortunately entails that every day now,  I may expect to find my access to this ‘editor’ removed or blocked?  I have these latest ‘colors of nature’ from this year as well as some pretty great extra pictures like it that I hope I’ll still be able to post. . .
(Cross your fingers!) But if it does not work, then it does not work! And if so – for me – it will be a final end to WP blogging. I’m too old to start again, but the plan is for my photos to remain here as long as possible and that you can all drop by when the opportunity
arises ?!

Yes, these images became rather similar, only slightly different in places, but – only
15 minutes later – dark and red colors had been dissolved into ‘nothingness’ leaving only the yellow and orange colors just above the horizon. The rest of the sky had suddenly turned light blue all over!
(Compliments of SRB)
Please return me t
o  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

  1. Are these the (wonderful) colours of the solstice?

  2. Now these would make a beautiful painting 🙂

Delightful photos, Svein! I would be sad to not be able to enjoy your excellent photography! I hope the Classic editor sticks around but you never know with WordPress. Seems unfair because many don’t like the new editor. I think that if you don’t renew your site, it gets shut down.

    • Seenorway says:

Well, I’m payin NOK 1000 a year for my Premium, but – that is for additional space to post
new material. I have been given to belive that my blog will remain as it is, but if I do not pay for another year, I will not be able to post any new pictures anyway.
I would like to, but if they take away my editor of choice, the door is kind of closed in my face! And I won’t be paying for a space I cannot use!

      • Eugi says:

Do you back up your blog?

        • Seenorway says:

What do you mean? If I will pay whatever the costs of a renewal?
Or if I have made a copy of everything on it?
Both questions warrants a clear ‘no’! That said, however, of course I have each and every picture on file, but not my texts! Bloggers usually don’t find the time to read long texts, but are skimming through pictures. A very few goes into details studying each picture, but I think I could cout them on my fingers.

Thank you, And – muuuuuch cheaper! 😀

I, also, prefer the classic editor and if they remove access (now or in the near future), I will probably not continue blogging on this WordPress platform. I really don’t have the time or energy to use some software that has more steps to create each post I upload. I can’t multitask with my health conditions so keep all online tasks to a minimum.

The old classic editor was so easy and quick. In this day and age when we follow lots of creative blogs or use our computers a lot, I don’t wish to spend unnecessary time online.

Hope you have an enjoyable festive season and good health in the coming New Year. 🙂

I love those lovely sunrises and sunsets you share, so for the time being, keep on posting.

Svein, sad to know you may not be able to post your beautiful photos on WordPress. We can go to your website through Google, if you decide to continue. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. 🎄🎶 Christine

    • Seenorway says:

Well, Christine, so far they have not blocked my access, but when (if they do), it would be too late for me to inform you what had happened. Now it is done!
I am not planning to terminate my photography as long as the ‘Old Classic Editor’ is kept alive, but if they do not – at least you will know why I am suddenly not publishing any new posts! I hope my blog might be kept alive for years to come so that you all may visit when ever you choose to. And even if I can no longer post new pictures, I might still be around from time to time rsponding to comments from all of you.
Taking one day at a time from now on!

Wonderful pictures Svein. You have nearly 10 years of amazing pictures here and it still will be a joy to look at them as you have them sorted so well. It will be sad not to see new posts from you, but also understandable. Big hug and thank you for all the beauty you show us !

    • Seenorway says:

      Hi, Ute!
Well, I have tried my best to make it easy on you building my ‘INDEX’, I truely have not seen any other blog that has something similar. However, in order to utilize my Index best possible way, I would reccomend everyone to google ‘Old counties of Norway’ to sort out ‘the lay of the land’ – so to speak – because this index is built over that geographical system and NOT the ‘new’ counties introduced through 2021.
After all, I have been at this for the last 10 years! As for pictures; Nearly 8 500 and just about 95% in ‘full screen’! Please enjoy!
