Ryfoss, Vang

Jeg har akkurat tatt dere med til administrasjonssenteret Vang i Vang kommune, men et annet sentralt sted i dene kommunen er ‘Ryfoss’!

I have just presented you with the municipal center ‘Vang’ in the community of Vang, but – there is another residental area in this community: ‘Ryfoss’!
Og – hovedattraksjonen i Ryfoss er jo som navnet indikerer selvfølgelig selve Ryfossen hvor interesserte også kan skaffe seg sin egen middag!
And the main attraction in Ryfoss is, as the name indicates, ‘Ryfossen’ itself. A place where those with an interest for fishing may get lucky and secure their own dinner!
Det er nok også det mest fotograferte sted i Ryfoss 🙂
And it will undobtedly be the most photographed place in Ryfoss  🙂

I have another dozen pictures of this waterfall, but I promise noe to tire you with more of them just now.
Men for å lage en foss så må man jo gjerne ha en elv?  Og dette er igjen ‘Begna’ som vi har møtt i flere  reportasjer fra Valdres. En god fiskeelv er det også, men her oppe ved Ryfoss har den fortsatt en beskjeden størrelse i forhold til hva den har lenger nede i dalen.
But – to create a waterfall one must have a river? And again we meet the river ‘Begna’ which we have seen on several occasions during our travels through Valdres. Rich on fishing it is, but up here in Ryfoss it is of modest size compared to what it is further down  the valley.
Så hvordan er det å bo på et sted som Ryfoss?  Vel, restauranter og omfattende kulturtilbud er det kanskje ikke så godt om her oppe. På den annen side er det et sted med mye flott natur og dessuten et relativt trygt sted for ungdom å vokse opp (selv om de nok synes det kan være litt kjedelig)  🙂

So how is it to live in a place like ‘Ryfoss’?  Well, there are perhaps not too many restaurants og cultural activities up here? On the other hand there is as much fantastic nature as you may care to handle. Furthermore it’s a rather safe place for the younger generation to find their foothold (allthough they might find it a bit boring at times) 🙂

Her har jeg funnet frem til den lokale barnehagen i Ryfoss.
Here I have found the local Kindergarten’ in Ryfoss.
I enden av boligfeltet fant jeg noe som kunne se ut som en ganske ny treningsbane for diverse ballspill.

In the outskirts of the residental area I found something looking like a rather new athletic training field for different ball games.
Som dere sikkert kan se så lever man godt i lille Ryfoss hvor man tilsynelatende har alt man trenger.
As you may see, life in Ryfoss may be rather comfortable and most of what you need on a daily basis has been taken care of.
Og der man vanligvis forlater Ryfoss, er den lokale bensinstasjonen strategisk plassert! Det tar mindre enn en halvtime å spasere rundt Ryfoss!

And where you usually leave Ryfoss, the local gasoline station has a strategic location
You may walk around Ryfoss within half an hour!
