Ustaoset

Originally, Ustaoset was just a station on the ‘Bergen Line’, but gradually a number of cabins were built in the immediate vicinity of the station itself. Later came a fairly large hotel by the standards of the time, but – times change and today this hotel has long been converted into privately owned apartments. At the same time, Ustaoset has managed to develop a cabin area where almost all cabins have public sewers, roads, water, and electricity at the same time as the number of cabins has increased significantly!
Today you will find about 900 cabins that are naturally parishes to Ustaoset!

Now it is the time to move further towards the West, but that part of the trip will only start
with my next report!

Please return me to  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

      You know it, I guess?
We were able to spend an entire week up there in the mountains and with
sunny weather all day long and much warmer than it usually is at Ustaoset!
      Fantastic week!

Everything is based on vacations, however, a large number of people are in retirement, so there are people up in the mountains at all times!

What a lovely place to be! Are the cabins full-time residences or vacation rentals?
