Phenomenon in the Sky

When you have ‘photography’ as a hobby, you always walk around with a small side look at the surroundings as well as the horizon; looking for possible motives of interest!
This is how I discovered a unique light phenomenon in the sky a few days ago.
Of course, you all know that the sun rises in the East and descends in the West, right?
And that’s why I discovered quite early that something very unusual was about to happen. Early enough for me to prepare and take a running sequence of pictures so that it was possible to see a gradual change from picture to picture. And to make it extra easy to follow, – as a one-time exceptionI have added ‘the exact time of exposure in the middle of the base-line for each picture.

Some might wonder why this is so special? That’s because all the pictures are taken directly towards the East! The pictures should therefore, speak for themselves?

Please observe the somewhat strang white clouds forming over the Eastern horizon!
Som plutselig ble gule og rosa!
Who suddenly turned yellow and pink!
And which gradually fulled out the horizon!

Please remember – we are looking directly towards East! The sun has long descended underneath the horizon well behind us!
.
And – approximately 10 minutes later, everything became just ‘lead grey’!

Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

Amazing photos and clouds are fascinating to observe! It’s interesting there is still such a lovely glow since you took the pictures facing East.

Yes, that’s the riddle! But there are some factors that might have caused it, of course!
At this point in time, the sun might have been partly visible over the horizon, but a very low cloud ceiling might have prevented the sun from lighting up the houses on the ridge?
Everything must be in exact places at the same time to make this happen!
