Promises of a Sunset

When it comes to sunsets, you never really know what will happen! The only thing you know is the official time of sunset in your area. The rest is a gamble! What about the cloud ceiling? Height above ground? And even more difficult: What about the cloud ceilings beneath the horizon? The ones you cannot see!? Always pretty exiting and usually with
unexpected surprises.
The other day it looked rather promising, and even if anything might happen rather abruptly, I kept an eye on the horizon when the time was closing in.

What if I zoomed a bit closer? Would I get a better impression, or would I be losing the overall picture?

What if I turn slightly towards left, thus altering the perspective a bit?
Please study this picture in detail! The white clouds will indicate that the sun might have descended underneath the horizon somewhere in the left part of this picture, but we may all see that this is not correct? The sun is without a doubt located just underneath the horizon slightly to the right of the centre of the picture.
SO – how do I explain these white floodlight-looking clouds? I really don’t know, but finding the cloud to be fuzzier in the outer part of the picture, I might suggest it to be the contrails of a passing jet?
i noen grad fremheves litt. 🙂

I take joy in observing the nature around me – also in slightly different directions compared to the actual sunset. The sunset itself is taking place just outside
the right-hand frame, but by activating a filter named ‘Living colors’, the camera becomes
more light-sensitive and colors are somewhat enhanced. Then this picture became rather beautiful, don’t you think? Something that would fit nicely on a wall? 🙂

Actually, I had returned home long ago, but then I happened to throw a glance out the window . . .
And I had to take an extra trip! 🙂 I hope you liked it!

Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

All of them are worthy of a wall hanging in my opinion. The last photo is outstanding and very dramatic.

Beautiful, these are living colours with or without filter. Your last one with the filter is really like a painting for the wall, you are right.
