It has truely been a somewhat unusual winter this year. A few days ago we received
– though with some doubt – a weather report that warned about 12-10 inches of snow through the coming night and the day after, but – of course – there came no snow!
Not a single snowflake! Instead, the sun appeared! And the only thing that could remotely look like winter was the temperature that suddenly dropped from plus 7 degrees plus and down to zero in addition to a rather icy wind!
This morning, however, I woke up to an exciting sunrise at 7.00 am, but with a thermometer that had probably completely misunderstood all about seasons?
It showed a blistering minus 9.8 degrees C !!!
I did the only thing that seemed reasonable at the time: I fired up the stove, documented the sunrise with some quick photos, and – strolled back to my good warm bed!
Og ja, dere har antagelig sett tilsvarende bilder før – tatt gjennom mitt stuevindu,
samme motiv, men nye bilder – tatt i morges kl 07.00
And ‘yes’, you have surely seen pictures exactly like these before – shot through our
livingroom window. Same motif but new pictures – shot this morning at 7.00 am!
Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to INDEX for a new picture/destination.
Strange indeed….. Does anyone know how to forecast the weather with real accuracy
I really don’t think so, David! They have got all the technical gadgets in the world like
weather radar, air pressure gauges, temperatur gauges, water temperatures and they have access to all observations throughout Europe and further. In addition observation planes
prowling the seas hunting for Low’s and High pressure areas, but – if you ask them, they are the very first to implore that weather forecasting is NOT an exact science!
You may take it from there!
If I ask you if it’s gonna rain tomorrow at your place you may say ‘Sure, it will rain’ or you
may choose to claim that it will NOT rain tomorrow. Either way you have 50% chance of giving me the right answer 🙂 And when it comes down to it: 50% isn’t all that bad, is it?
Glorious colors, Svein! We’re experiencing a bit of a cold snap this week! Actually, it is refreshing since the sun is shining.
Thank you! It has been a remarkable winter! In spite of my 83 years, I can’t remember having experienced anything like this year before!
That is the way to do it. Back to the warm bed!
However, possibly not the wisest thing to do as next time I opened my eyes, the time was 11.00 AM 🙂
That is great, … just a late breakfast then…. 🙂
Kaldt!!! Fyrte opp og kakao i koppen.
God ide. Hvorfor tenkte ikke jeg på det?! Har stivnet i gamle rutiner med kaffe, kaffe og enda litt mere kaffe . . .!
It was cold! Through the day it has been about plus/minus 1 degree!
Thank you, Sue, but in another 48 hours we will write ‘March’! And with a tiny bit of optimism – that’s a ‘spring month’ ! Right? Yes, we might encounter a bit of snow once i a while, but it’s definitely
a ‘plus degree month’!!!
But it’s felt cold!! On phone do fingers not working. 🤣😂
Beautiful sky love those colours. Just more rain in our part of the world, bits it’s ft cold enough for snow today. 🤗💓
