We have a shrub in the garden which name I must have heard  several times over, however, memory is unfortunately no longer my strongest side. But the birds remember where to find it! And at every fall it almost crunches under the weight of nutritious berries!
Through the fall we often wake up early due to local flocks of birds holding an ‘fiesta’ on these berries before embarking on their long journey towards the south and – strangely enough, they seem to ‘speak’ a completely different language than usual where they roam these berries. Low-key (not to wake us), but quite intense! And you can actually hear that they are all very happy with the meal! 🙂
Unfortunately, this is also a first warning that the fall is approaching in earnest. Just observe how the leaves are getting a bright red color!

Yes, there are signs of fall, even in our area where we still are experiencing heat indexes in the triple digits. A few leaves are turning and not because of the heat.

Looks like Aronia, Surbær – the blackbirds seem to like them a lot. They ate them all up before i could bring them to the kitchen for some confiture-cooking.
