Dramatic Morning

For some reason I woke up early in the morning! Very early! A quick glance out the window showed a very low cloud ceiling, partly foggy with a little bit of drizzle and –
waay too dark to even attempt to rise! A quick look at my watch told me that the time was only a few mintes to 5. AM, but -there was something about the light . . .?
So just to be prepared I grabbed my mobilecamera and barefoot entered my dark and somewhat damp terrace:
As I said: Dark, wet and kind of hazy, but I still shot one picture!
Far from the best picture I’ve ever taken, however, with kind of a dramaticc effect that I wanted to share . . .!

Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

Wow! That shot is worth your early morn. Amazing contrasts in the sky along with the silhouettes of the trees.

Thank you! Well it was kind of dark due to a heavy overcast. If you study the picture in detail, you may distinguish the sun up there behind the clouds and reasobably high above the horizon which is to be expected with an official sun-up around 4 a.m., but due to overcast you can’t really see it where it ought to be. At the same time some of the sunrays penetrate the cloud layers below the sun disc whilst the overall perception is ‘dark’ 🙂

We are flying to Oslo tomorrow for a couple of days…. looking forward to it!

Aw, how nice that would have been for you, but unfortunately the weather forecast for tomorrow (Saturday) is mostly overcast throughout the day; Sunday it’s gonna be raining all day long, but not the heavy stuff. Just drizzle.
Next week, however, (From Monday) the summer is back with very fine and warm weather
for most of our country. Will you still be here?

      • utesmile says:

I have seen, but will be there Monday and Tuesday as well. back late Tuesday. 🙂

Hurra! Then you’re liable to get a good impression from Oslo. May I suggest a visit to the Akershus Castle down by the harbour and a solid meal across the harbour basis at ‘Aker Brygge’ (The Aker Pier) which is an area with a couple of dozen restaurants on the water and a nice place to spend a few hours once the weather is on your side!

Thanks for the tip. We are not far from there. Had a lovely first impression. 😊

So you have your netpad along? Splendid! Today didn’t turn out to bad regarding weather prognosis, but unfortunately tomorrow will probably be rather wet, You need something ‘inside’ to look at. How about the Royal Castle at the end of our main street: The Carl Johan street? I seem to remember that there are tours inside arranged on a regular basis every day through summer, only I’m not familiar with Sundays? But it’s the tourist season so who knows . . .? Please ask the clerc at your desk and I’m sure he/she will assist you.
It’s a’once in a life time-experience! Monday the weather will change to the better, and that would be the time for the Akershus Castle/Fortress down at the warf.
Here you may read about sightseeings at the royal castle:

Nja, det var jo ikke meningen da, Terje, men litt flaks skal man vel ha når man har viet sine interesser til foto? 🙂

  4. Wow – fantastisk! Det gjør det verdt å våkne så tidlig 😃
