The Morning that wasn’t –

Kind of a cryptic caption? Yes, actually, but let me fill you in on this happening:
I awoke early one morning, possibly because it was my birthday and that I’d lot of things to get in order for the day? But it also gave me an opportunity to watch out for a fabulous sun-up. What a day this would turn out to be? And if I had not known better, I’d suspect that someone was watching me? 🙂 Because out there on the horizon something fantastic was about to happen:
First only a faint reddish tint slowly increasing in intensity, then elements of golden
yellow . . . Fortunately I kept my new mobilecamera  handy, and within the next 10-12 minutes I shot a dozen fantastic frames I won’t easily forget.
Pictures that in the aftermath proved to be absolutely worthless and totally out of focus!
When colors seem bright, it may be hard to see such details in a 6 inches screen, but I promise you that you will on a 27 inch screen! Only a couple of these shots could be brought to a standard that I was willing to publish, and then only to bring you an understanding of what went lost. But as you know – I’m testing, and fortunately I think I know exactly what went wrong in this case, thus it most likely won’t ever happen again!

Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

  1. Beautiful picture! Happy Belated Birthday

Thank you, Missy! I’ll be taking one day at a time now – especially during the winter!
Won’t risk falling on slippery icy ground!

      • That’s a great plan. I was thinking of you and wondering how your weather was while it was -25° F with a -43° windchill. We are used to cold weather but this was extreme!

        • Seenorway says:

Well, Missy, where I live we don’t ever have such conditions like what you had up Chicago way a few days ago. But – Norway is a looong country, and such temperatures micht occur in our Northern regions from time to time – but not where I live. Down here we might experience 20-25 C below zero, but only for a day or two. But this year it seems we’ll have a lot more snow than usually. At the moment we have approximately 60 inches, but the last 5-10 years it has been less than 40 in my part of the country.
However we are each year experiencing trailers from the European contintinent blocking our roads with their summer tyres in spite of the fact that our mountain passes have at least12-18 feet of snow during winter!

    Gratulerer med overstått bursdag 😄🎁️🎉️🎈
Et flott bilde av soloppgangen 😄

    • Seenorway says:

Tusen takk, Jorunn! Men hukommelsen blir gradvis litt mer ‘frynset i kantene’. Det hører visst med 🙂
Men jeg er jo her ennå da, så det kommer no flere bilder etter hvert!

  3. Seenorway says:

Yeah, I thought so too, only I would have wished for perfect pictures! Now it’s gone, and it might never ever come back!

  4. -Eugenia says:

Wow! An awesome gift for your birthday! That is a spectacular shot.

    • Seenorway says:

Well, thank you, but I failed! With a little luck I could have had a dozen of these – nearly alike, but not quite! It’s when you fail that you contemplate the fact that one might never get the chance again? Not exactly like this!
And it is a reminder to talk to your loved ones and the elders of the family, – straightening things out, solve differencies – because tomorrow it might be too late!

Beautiful! Perfect for a Birthday Day!

  6. Leyla says:
