I will, of course, undertake a far more serious testing with regards to ‘night photography’,
but as a small preparation I shot a couple of night pictures just outside the house where I live: Freehand photography, no blitz, 100% based on the automatic settings made by the mobile camera and its stabilizer.
And yes, there is one single street light aproximately 25 feet away from where I stand, but
looking closely at the slight shadows crossing the road, it’s pretty evident that much of the light in question is actually coming from the windows in the picture?
Også i dette bildet finnes det et gatelys nede i gaten mot høyre – avstand ca 60 fot!
Also in this last picture there is a single street light down the road to your right – distance approximately 60 feet!
Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to INDEX for a new picture/destination.
Great!
Takk, ja, det var en spennende utfordring!
Both look incredible.. 🙂
Thank you! Was slightly surprised myself as hand held night photos usually means less sharpness, but the lense is a f=1,7 !!!
Wonderful clarity 🙂
It is rather amazing just ow much detail they can capture at the extremes of light. I hear that there is one phone company that is testing 48mpx camera…but more importantly with more pixels per inch on the sensor (currently 72) so that real quality prints can be produced. Progress….nothing stands still 🙂
The phone I’m using (Huawei Mate 20 Pro) boasts 40 mpx! I don’t think another 8 would make much of a difference, but I’m really impressed with what they have made so far.
I did appreciate that….but the point I was making was the drive to increase pixel count on the sensor. That really would be a major step forward
Yes, I get you! And, yes, it probably would, however, it seems to me that they might have reached some limit, and that an increased number of pixels today would mean a larger card?
Nor really most Middle range cameras produce much bigger files and manage on the usual memory cards. In some ways size is academic if folk are only going to use the phone images on social media and blogs as the optimum size is 72mpx per inch… The problem wod come as phone become even more capable and appeal to let’s say keen photographers who would like to print more than just snapshot size prints… The day will come 🙂
Definitely!
They came out well! The second one is more nightly though!
Yes, and the difference is most likely that there are no largely lit windows in this picture?
