Testing the Huawei P-20

i hovedsak grunnet kameraet!
.
.
Because my old mobile telephone with (my) age had become somewhat impractible with regard to screen – not to forget the keyboard -I have purchased a new modern ‘smart telephone’ – The Huawei P-20 – mainly due to its camera technology!
So far – I’ve foun that this camera seems to be extremely well suited for wide screen photos, especially from the sky and nature panoramas, but – it boasts of having an extreme capability for low-light photography as well?

So far I’m fighting a battle to find the easiest and most effectivve way to upload pictures from this mobile, but – I have succeeded in getting out a few.

On this occasion I’ve challenged the camera selecting a macro motive with low and strong light at the same time. So how will it react? Will it report a low-light situation? Or too much ligh? Or will it find an intellectual solution to the task ahead?
My selecte motive:  A rosa candle encased in a black metal screen with decor! Now what?

The 3 pictures that I have published are actually the very same picture, but I have changed the size and form somewhat to let you study the details. And if you have an opinion, I’ll be exited to hear it?!

Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

  1. So pleased to see you back my friend 😁💖

    • Seenorway says:

Thank you, Sue, but still contemplating whether this blog has a future when WP refuses to verify what’s going on, and how they came about suspending a blog like mine.
I have asked them ‘what’ they found on my blog indicating that I could be a spammer, but so far the only thing they say is that they apologize, but refuse to discuss the matter further.
I don’t think that’s quite enough after what they have created!

      • No I totally agree Svein, the least they can do is give an explanation. I send you a reply email, and a link on how to back up your blog. And if ever you wish to use another blogging platform you can upload to another provider.. Though I hope you continue here Svein as we love all of your photography.
Wishing you well my friend ❤

      • Seenorway says:

Well, thank you, Sue, but I guess I’m stuck here. This is where my friends are, and this is the editor I know how to use – that is – as long as we have access to the old classic editor.
If I ever forced to switch to the new one, I’ll be gone in a second! (It doesn’t work for me, and it still seems to have its flaws!) (May be I have too?! 🙂 )
Besides, I way too old to start up anew! (And I think they know that?!)

        • There is supposed to be a whole new program in the works of a new editor for all of WordPress in the works. I got an update to trial it.. I put it off until I have to use the new one they will no doubt install very soon…

          • Seenorway says:

The Americans have a good saying: If it works, – DON’T fix it!
And I can’t agree more. They’ve had this new editor for more than a year now, and it still doesn’t work like it should. If there is another ‘new one’ a coming, the risk of loosing the old classic will be higher than ever. And if we do, that’s the day I’m out of here.
Do you know when this will be introduced? The I might possibly save my annual payment for 2019?

            • No I have no idea, I never clicked onto their new edit page last time.. The only thing I can suggest that may work Svien is that you perhaps when signed into your Dashboard and New Post page ready to create a new post on your existing theme is to save the whole page into your browser bookmarks.. I did that in case it was needed, but because I never switched to the new editor, mine stayed the same.. But with this new one I think its a whole WP overhaul, so I doubt any of us will have a choice. ❤

            • Seenorway says:

Well, I’m too old to be thaught ‘how to’ again, so perhaps the end to my blogging is drawing closer than I’d like to believe anyway?
I also got a link to something new here. I can’e even remember what it was called, but I never tried. I’m quite happy with the one editor I’ve got!

I use air drop to transfer photos from my iphone to my Mac, it’s super easy.

  3. Dina says:

    Dear Svein,
I received an email where you write that your wordpress account has been suspended. It’s been archived. Obviously it’s not. Did you send this email or have you maybe been hacked?
It looks like everything is fine with your site! 🙂
    All the best,
    Hanne

    • Seenorway says:

      Hi, Dina,
No, I wasn’t hacked! WP has admitted to a technical error, admitting that I should never have been suspended the first place, and they have apologized, but it wasn’t quite as simple: I’ve been working on my reputation as a serious blogger every day for 12 years, never issued a warning, never suspended for any reason, and now WP has successfully taken all that away by the flip of a finger telling the world that I was suspended! (In breach of regulations!) Which was never the case!
After having been informed that they had restored my blog, I checked it out. I still only found the board wit my suspension, but – following your link on this occasion, it seems something may have happened over the last hours while I have been busy answering mails. So I’ll check it again! Perhaps it’s back in working order? That would please me
immensely. (Thank you for the information)
And – I still only see this board of suspension from my computer!

  4. I like your second photo best. What a pretty little dish that you have it in. I amazed that the leaf on the dish is that visible! I take all of my photos with a newer iPad! I’m not sure what the version is. I also use a photo editing app called “Pic, Tap, Go”. I haven’t tinkered with it in low light settings though

    • Seenorway says:

Neither did I. The idea was to find how the automatic settings worked under extreme conditions. And it seemed to do pretty well?`I have also taken a few test shots at night in
really low-light conditions and so far it looks pretty promising.

    • Seenorway says:

I think they have made hughe progress over the last years. Especially the test-shots of a ‘city by night’ seems to have come out rather well, but – that’s on a 6,2 screen! 🙂

The camera in my new phone (Galaxy S7) works nicely and I’m no pro at taking photos. I plug the phone into my laptop to transfer my pics. I keep my camera pics and downloads of images in categorized files. Your photos turned out well. Nice contrast and detail, IMO.

  6. utesmile says:

I am using my Sony mobile as csmrtayand I love it. ot takes great pictures. Phones are now brilliant with it. I bought the Sony because of its good camera. The pictures are good, the last one is the best I find. Do experiment with it.

    • Seenorway says:

I’ll be trying more in the future, and to make it easy on you, all pictures taken with my phone will be marked with an ‘H’ in front of the number in the lower right corner.
But at the moment it’s a bit more trouble than joy. I’ll have to find an easy way to upload!

  7. puzzleblume says:

As you say: I have learned too, that the newer mobile phone cameras are wonderful for wide angle captures and low light situations, often better balanced as those of a “real” camera in any automatic modus.

    • Seenorway says:

True! Many buy and use the smaller pocket cameras on a daily basis, but after having bought 3 differrent such cameras in a row and returned them all a couple of days later, I found that they rarely did select the correct shutter suitable for what I was about to shoot!
Also mobile cameras might miss, but today they are far better than the small pocket cameras! At least many of them!
