The Eurasian Siskin

I have just given you a number of pictures of the greenfinch, but perhaps I should have included the Eurasian siskin as well? Just about the same size as well as appearance, perhaps with a somewhat stronger xxx of yellow? Besides – trhere have been cases where these species have mingled to an extent where hybrids have been created, making it nearly impossible to spot any major difference between the two. Why not just enjoy these smal colorful birds?

Apaparazzi shot from behind, but which may better enable you to recognize this particular bird?

It may seem the the beak may be a bit more pointed than that of the greenfinch and that colors tend to be aa bit more yellowish that towards the green?
Et lite ‘portrett-fotografi’! 🙂
A small ‘portrait-photo’  🙂
.

I’m showing you this last picture only to demonstrate the speed with which these birds are
operating. I was, of course, quite unprepared for this landing, but shot more on a reflex!
My camera at the tim was set to ISO 800 and a shutter speed 1/500 sec, but as you all may see; I didn’t have a chance to get a sharp clear picture from this landing.
I should probably have tried an ISO of 2000 and a shutter speed of something like 1/3000 sec to get something I could use but . . .?

Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

Thank you! I was afraid they wouldn’t be accepted since you are all used to get geographic selected pictures by the dozens, but perhaps I’ll stick to birds and other creatures for a while. It might make a nice change?

Beautiful colors and love the shot of our fine feathered friend in flight.
