When I one day photographed the Vikersund area, I shot this scene from the top of the Vikersund skiing hill (The largest in the world!) Here you may jump as far as 255 meters!
(If you dare, that is! 🙂 Her you may also see pretty far on a clear day! Across the lake below (Lake Bergsjoen) you are seeing the northern part of Geithus slowly growing together with the southern parts of the city of Vikersund, but from where I’m standing, it’s not possible to see any dividing lines.
However, if any of you wishes to take a closer look at these areas, we have, of course, long ago published separate photo reports from these areas. They may be seen behind these links: GEITHUS – VIKERSUND

Please return me to INDEX for a new picture/destination.
Stunning views! The 2nd photo is most interesting with the ripples in the water and what looks like white flowers on the right-hand side. It has a 3d effect.
Kind of, yes! It’s a paradox that you seem to loose that effect using f 16 or above when all are just as sharp. Something needs to be slightly fuzzy! ;.)
It is, Dina, and if you open the link ‘Vikersund’ or perhaps try the little window with ‘vikersundbakken’, you’ll find pictures from the point where the skiers embark on their downward journey? (Don’t get dizzy! 🙂 )
That’s fabulous view from the top! 🙂
