TO REMIND YOU ALL – about Norway!

On January 17th – our National Day,  I published a post called
PROUD  NORWAY‘. There was no picture displayed – and for a reason:
I didn’t want to compete with the fantastic 8 minutes video inside.
The very best video from Norway that I have ever posted!
Unfortunately blog posts are ‘fresh meat’ so to speak. So checking it out today, the video is still there, however, nobody can guarantee for how long?! So – if you haven’t yet seen it, and if you have an interest in Norway and Norwegian nature, you’ll never ever get a better chance to a lasting impression from our country. (And I’ll be making a note of who that takes this opportunity and who doesn’t bother.)
If you are in doubt as to whether you should invest in an 8 minutes video, please read the comments about what others have to say – after having seen it! Soon it might be too late!

  1. Well I followed the link, and now I am in love with Norway! I never before considered visiting, but now I feel a plan forming to make that my next destination of adventure with my two daughters who I am homeschooling. what a beautiful country. Thank you !

I’m delighted that someone got the sense to follow through! 🙂 And I’m sorry I can’t take the credit for this video, but I did publish it for a reason:
Even if I have been travelling my country, camera in hand, for more than 50 years, I was really impressed myself of the country in which we are living, and – I’d like more people to see it! ‘Links’ are also inserted into our photo reports for a reason: They would give the viewer additional information in several languages, but as nobody seemed to bother about following these leads, I gave it up! After all it does take a lot of time to dig up such information in different languages., But I wish you welcome! We’ll still be here in 50 years, allthough it might not look exactly like today! 🙂

Svein, you know it’s unfortunate people don’t take time to view this spectacular video. I enjoy it more each time I watch it. Don’t stress about the number of followers and commenters because it’s not worth it. Just enjoy what you’re doing and be proud because your efforts are unsurpassed.

I don’t pay much attention to my blog stats because my purpose is to write and enjoy doing it. I received a comment from a follower a couple of days ago that compared the rhythm of my poem to beats on metronome – best compliment I’ve received and makes every minute of writing worth it. I’d rather have one sincere comment than thousands of followers.

    • Seenorway says:

I remember reading that comment! 🙂 The reason why I sound a bit frustrated is that I have no control over this video, and after having been published on this newspaper for 2 solid months, it might be taken down any day soon now. Then it will be lost to all!
I’m asking myself why the volume of bloggers don’t seem to be willing to follow a link?
May it possibly be because the large volume of bloggers don’t know the simple trick of holding down the shift-button whilst activating the link? Then they may x out and be back exactly where they were, but really – don’t they know this?

      • -Eugenia says:

It seems not everyone is computer savvy. I just click on the link and voila!

        • Seenorway says:

Yes, but I think that’s the worry for some? How would they get back to the blog for more pictures? So – they don’t activate links! Just a theory of mine, but I can’t think of any other reason? If you, on the other hand, hold down the ‘shift key’ whilst activating the link, you may just x out of the video and automatically be brought back to where you left the blog.
No stress at all! I thought most people knew this, but now a days I’m not so sure . . .

Svein, I saw the video when you posted it , and I loved it! Wish more people got it that viewing beauty like that is UPLIFTING! Thanks for the reminder. I’m enjoying it all over again! Christine

    • Seenorway says:

Yes, Christine, I remember you to be one of the 5 that left a comment the first time around.
But – this was within my ‘monitoring period’ and therefore I could see that approximately 380 people opened my blog within the first 48 hours whilst this post was at the very top.
(Obvious first choice!) Given the quality of this video, I just can’t accept receiving 15 – fifteen – ‘likes’ on this occasion. Not if 380 people in fact saw the video! And since I received 15 ‘likes’ at the time, that’s probably the number of people that actually saw the video?! I nearly terminated my blog on that day. Why struggle when the majority just didn’t bother, although they had all enlisted as ‘followers’ being very interested in Norwegian nature and presumably photography? This is now more than 2 months ago, and during those 2 months NOBODY has been visiting this post. It still showed only 15 ‘likes’!
I can’t be bothered about the number of ‘likes’, however, it mirrors the fundamental lack of interest out there! But I do believe a video of such quality ought to get one more chance?
I really don’t understand why I push this, but – it has made it way easier for me to terminate
this blog prior to my original intentions. After all – soon 82 – why push something that people don’t bother so see?
So when I publish new pictures in the future, it will be as much for my own pleasure as for anything else. A hobby of mine! I think it ends there?!

      • C.E.Robinson says:

Svein, wise thinking! Your own pleasure comes first. I join you in that thought. Now at age 79, what I post supports a follower or friend because I have something to say or show. It’s collecting memories in words and photos on a blog like a published book. Happy Blogging for YOU! 📚 Christine

    Love that video!

  5. Seenorway says:

Huh! I don’t really understyand how that came about, but never mind. It’s the same video!
So choose which ever you want! Only remember that the newspaper will be showing you a short commercial before the video. It’s well worth the wait! 🙂

  6. renxkyoko says:

    That is simply amazing .

  7. Missy's Crafty Mess says:

Oh my goodness that was one amazing way to enjoy my morning cup of coffee. I see that there are three videos on the page you linked to. I’m going to have to watch the rest after I plug my iPad in. Thank you for sharing! Your photos and this video make me wonder why my family ever left Norway. Someday I’d love to travel to Norway and find my family roots. Beautiful!!!
