Impressions from a Garden

It’s still 7-8 degrees over the normal in our parts of the world, but I have a feeling that temperatures are pretty much over the normal in other parts of our world?

In Southern Norway local fire brigades are desperately fighting a large number of forest fires ignited by lightnings in extremely dry forest areas all over the place, lawns are withering away under our feet and heavy restrictions have been imposed on the use of water!  Perhaps then it’s time to take a stroll through the garden and preserve sssome of the sights that are still there, before it all disappears under a burning sun?

The flowerflies feel pretty safe looking like bees, but several hunters have gotten wise to the trick – 🙂

You’ll be welcome inside, but it’s gonna be one sticky experience . . .!
Please observe how the flower in the back has sealed its seed capsule!
The bumblebees are very methodic in their search for nectar –

This is not a regular butterfly but most probably some kind of ‘spinner’?
It’s incredibly hard to indentify such spinners unless you have them pinned to a board, and we don’t want to do that, do we . . .?

Here is a real butterfly whom also appreciates the lavender. And I think this one is called a ‘Cabbage white’?

Yes, I know this suddenly became (perhaps) too mucj of flowers and bees, but   – tomorrow thay might be gone?!  And I hope I’ll leave you with a strong sense of summer, which (perhaps) also might be gone before you know it!

Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to  INDEX  for a new picture/destination.

Beautiful flowers, bees, and butterflies and an outstanding tribute to summer while it’s still upon us. It’s 85 degrees at 7:49 PM in my area, which isn’t too bad for this time of the year.

Hubby and I are traveling to Blue Ridge, GA tomorrow and returning Wednesday. Hold down the fort. 🙂

Enjoy your vacation! It’s nice to get away from the worst heat for a while!
I really don’t think all that much will be different once you return! 🙂

Ah, you know, Sue, these new telephones that whistle or plings endlessly through the day, they do have an ‘off-button’?! And I can almost guarantee that our world will still be here when you find the time to turn it back on! 🙂 (You probably have way too many apps installed!) I have 2 ( I think) and the one I use most is the weather forecast! It doesn’t intrude on my day at all.

  4. Wonderful flowers and butterflies, I was taking images to day too of Cabbage whites in the wild flowers on a meadow.. Will be catching up with the rest of your images as soon as I get through the lists of comments I am only spending a short time on my blog, and when I intend to sit at my computer something crops up to prevent me.. So I am just going with the flow of it and you know Normal service should be resumed sooner of later! 🙂
