We had in fact been warned that we were in for a real cold spell with temperatures around 15 – 20 ‘blue’, but – then suddenly we received a contra alert: Now we were to expect a couple of days with heavy rains and warm weather?!
Here where I live even the rain stayed away,l but temperatures over the last couple of days have been a pleasant 4 degrees plus! And the snow depth, which was approximately 30 inches have been reduced to only about 10-12 inches! Such conditions make me think of an early spring! And at least there may be hope . . .?

Please return me to INDEX for a new picture/destination.
Very nice work, Svein! It looks gorgeous.
Thank you, Dina. There is a danger here as this is the regular view from my living room, thus I’ve seen these scenes many times before, and – it’s easy to think that it’s nothing special. And if it becomes ‘nothing special’, there won’t be a photo taken – nor published! 🙂
Beautiful Svein.. I do not think the weather knows what to do.. Here it is cold them warm then cold.. Today another cold spell.. 🙂
That is the charm of the time ahead. You may never know what to expect.
The yesterday forecast predicted that we would have 4-6 degrees below zero and 10-12 inches of snow today, but I guess we’re in luck ’cause so far it has all been coming down as rain and the temperatures are plus 2 degrees! That will certainly take its tall on the snow still remaining from last snowfall.
Yes that is what happened in Scotland the other week Rain on snow, then floods. not good news.. The climate is all mixed up at the moment x
January was often tricky, even when we were kids (the 1950’s and ’60’s). Yes, February and early March can be rather tricky, in the opposite direction.
It certainly does! And it’s way too early for a spring to arrive, but ‘hope’ is also a wonderful feeling! 🙂 We were just alerted to 4 separate storm centers coming our way!
It was half a lovely spring day here but like Eugenia I don’t believe it has arrived yet. Spring that is.
Let February do its thing first.😊
Miriam
I understand what you say, and you’re most probably quite right, but a couple of years back our spring started to take hold on February 8th! And hope gives me a good feeling . . .

Sharing a stunning photo from Svein.
Beautiful sunrise, Svein. I never trust the signs of an early spring because invariably, another cold blast will come our way letting know winter is not yet over. Reblogging.
