Nah, not me! At least all what I know? But the nature around us seems th have gotten
‘the kiss of death’? Beautiful colors as long as the leaves are hanging on, but they don’t hold much resistance to wind these days, and when the first real rainstorms of the fall arrive, the leaves and colors will all be gone very quickly!
We have for a considerable time been harassed by low cloud ceilings and rainshowers, so when I discovered the sun breaking through for half an hour, I felt the need to preserve some of the colors before they were suddenly gone forever?
As you all surely know, these red leaves are a creeper, and it’s not dying! It’s supposed to be red this time of the year. This is in fact a time for blossoming.
Dokumentert ved dette bildet!
Documented by this picture!
But the colors may be fantastic this time of the year and – often for a very short time only!
Usually it’s the maples that go first.
This little creek is running through the settlement where I live. And as you may see, there are a lot of water these days, but it has been more than 3 feet higher once in a while. Then it becomes a problem!
.
I’m not quite sure what these flowers are named, but they’re growing wild along the banks of this little creek of ours. Blossoming rather late, they decorate the banks whilst other flowers have alreade died away.
.
Men – intet varer evig.
slutt. . .!
But nothing lasts forever! A flowerfly had chosen this flower for his deathbed. There weren’t hardly any movements left. I tried to touch him with my pen, but he only managed to drag himself a couple of milimeters more into the flower. In hours it will all be over . . .!
And if you study this beautiful little flower in detail, you’ll see the marks telling you that it will soon be all over . . .
.
Varer den en dag til?
Will it last another day?
.
:
This little park seems very lush and green, but that’s due to the little creek running through the park and the fact that it from time to time rises a bit more than it should . . .
A small chestnut tree has also registered the signs of a fall drawing closer.
And he’s not alone about that!
.
Andre har allerede tatt sin død . . .
Others are already dead . . .
.
A glance towards the sky tells me that it’s possible that we will have even more rain –
very soon!
Thus I’m quick to shoot another couple of pictures before returning home.
.
I hope you’re happy with the result? There is no knowing whether I’ll get more chances before it’s all over.
(Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to INDEX for a new picture/destination.

Thank you, Rajiv. It’s also natures kind of last farewell before the snow starts falling, but it may still be a few weeks before that happens. And we never really know from one year to another. It may be in October already, or it may come some time in January, but it pays to be prepared!

Stunning pictures. Thanks for sharing. We are starting to see leaves changing here in the Midwestern US. I’m just waiting for a rainy day to whip up the seasons first batch of homemade soup and bread bowls.

So enjoyed all of the photo’s and no I do not know the name of that flower also.. xxx
Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday 🙂

Thank you, Sue! Yes, I think the colors are nice, but it doesn’t seem to interest all that many? 🙂 I gues there has been too much/many colors lately, but soon there will be mostly fog, rain and snow. Then I’ll contemplate doing what the bears do best! 🙂

I may be tempted to shoot a few scenes if the temperatures and the light is OK, but if it’s too cold I follow the bear tactics

You do right Svein, you must look after yourself and take care of you, No good going and catching a chill.. ❤

Well, Sue, that’s one thing about getting old – you tend to become a bit selfish perhaps.
Not because you don’t care about others and their needs, but simply because one gradually understand that there are a number of things you can’t or shouldn’t try to do any more. And if you’re wise, it pays to listen to your ‘inner voice’! At least it’s gonna keep you clear of unexpected troubles!

Very wise to listen to that ‘inner voice’ Svein it speaks to me all the time.. When I think I am but a twenty year old inside LOL… 🙂

Wonderful, wonderful pictures, thank you. Fall has not yet arrived in Italy, leaves are still green, but there are some small signs that it’s just around the corner

You’re welcome, Paola! You never know with the colors of fall. You might be able to enjoy them for weeks, or they might be gone overnight! But now you’ve at least seen these?

Such beautiful colors, Svein. I am so glad you captured the beauty of fall before it is gone. We have seen some fall colors here, however, I don’t how long the leaves will hang on once we get the winds from Irma.

Thank you! Well, that’s exactly the problem with fall colors. You never really know for how long they’ll last. Weakened by the first cold they have less resistance towards winds, and combined with heavy rain, which is not at all unusual this time of the year, it could all be gone in one night! But I got it! That’s the main thing!
Yes Irma will pay you a visit sometime next week, but it won’t be nearly as strong as you’d expect, You might, however, get a bit of heavy rain up there . . .
