Jordskokk

Jordskokk er en gammel nytteplante som egentlig har kommet hit fra Amerika tidlig på 1600-tallet og var vanlig i våre husholdninger inntil poteten gjorde sitt inntog.
Planten kan bli inntil 2,5 meter høy med store gule blomster.

The ‘Jerusalem Artichoke’ came to Norway from America in the beginning of the 1600’s and beca a pretty common plant within family nutrition untill the potatoes made their arrival!
The plant have a very nutritious root system and my grow to a height  of 8 feet with bright yellow flowers.
Men noen av oss bruker planten litt annerledes . . .
But some of uss are using this plant in another way . . .

  1. I did not know the flower was like this.. But then I have never grown a Jerusalem Artichoke,, I Live and Learn.. 🙂

    Nja, blomsten i seg selv er ikke så enorm. Solsikke er mye større. Men selve planten kan vokse seg 2,5 meter høy!
