Lier – Nykjua, Finnemarka

Yesterday the forecast read stable and sunny weather throughout the afternoon and evening, and the family decided to visit a beautiful small lake in the inner parts of an area named ‘Finnemarka’ – a forest and mountain ridge located between the Lier Valley and the municipality of ‘Modum’. This area may not be reached using motorized vehicles unless you have a permisson from the landowner, which of course we had!
Shooting pictures while driving is not recommended, but at least we have some pictures for you from our final destination: ‘Lake Little Nykjua’.

The sun, which was the main reason why we made the trip, didn’t show up before rather late in the evening.

So these first frames are shot with ‘available light’ – there and then. Unfortuantely that will be reflected in the colors, but we really had no way of knowing if the sun would appear at all?

But – since we were there anyway, we decided to follow our original plan, which meant the building of a grill and camp fire. Besides it would probably keep the mosquitos at bay?

You probably wouldn’t expect it, but here – way into the woods – you may find  war memorial! Hidden far away from people the Norwegian resistance with their saboteurs were staying at the very cabin we’re using today! And here came German soldiers to apprahend them. People died on both sides!

It looked like there would be a lot of fish in this lake? Because even if we really didn’t try to catch wakes in our pictures, they were actually pretty hard to avoid !

Powerlines contaminate nature, and when I remember – I cut them down! 🙂
.
.

But otherwise one might give in to nature and toootal relaxation?  Here all that might disturb you is the splash from a hungy trout once in a while!  Come to think of it – we did hear a woodpecker from somewhere across the lake – 3-400 yards away. That’s how quiet it was!
.
.

And what do you know! At long last even the sun  arrived on the scene! Then you may see some of the colors of the nature around us!
.
.
.
Altså:  Mer fra Finnemarka her!

Yes, of course, I did take quite a few more pictures from this trip, but it was getting late and the sun flatly refused to shine down along the gorge and the ‘River Nykjua’, however, I have previously made another photo report from this area with pictures from this particular river and more! And even if I have terminated publishing links (simply because most of you rarely seem to use them) I’ll make an exemption this time! So if you really want to see more from this area and the ‘River Nykjua’ – here it is!

(Compliments of SRB)
Please return me to INDEX for a new destination

And I was pretty much on the mark regarding ‘hyperlinks’! So far it seems something like 35-40 people have been reading this post, of which aproximately 15-18 people have been giving us a ‘Like’ (which we very much appreciate!), but – nobody has so far been opening the link leading to our previous photo report from the area! Which is why we will no longer bother to publish links of possible interest!

Those that tried it can fully recommend it, Sue, but – as for myself my back is playing up on me from time to time, and I just didn’t chance it. It’s a risky business getting in and out of it 🙂
