Flesberg Stav Church

Flesberg Stavkirke er antagelig bygget en gang i siste halvdel på 1100-tallet, muligens tidlig på 1200-tallet, men ombygget til ‘korskirke’ i 1735, men benyttes i dag fortsatt som sognekirke. Rundt kirken er bygget et noe uvanlig gjerde av store steinplater, og de står der den dag idag!
The Flesberg Stav Church has probably been built in the latter part of the 11th century, possibly early 12th century, but upgraded to a traditional ‘cross church’ in 1735!
It’s still being used as an ordinary church on daily basis.  The original fence, built in large slates of stone, is still encircling the church today!
