Little Olivers Ghastly Ordeal

Snart ville utvilsomt maten komme flyvende . . .

‘Little Oliver’ woke up to a new day and discovered with some suprise that there was no food left from yesterdays successful hunting. But – with unlimited hunting grounds  just outside his doorstep, this had never posed a problem before. Therefore he sneaked out and took position in his usual favourite spot. Soon his dinner would come flying . . .
– – – – –

But – the day was going to be extremely different to what’Little Oliver’ had expected! Suddenly he noticed an enormous black disc hovered into view! And with a size that blocked for most of the daylight, and as if that wasn’t enough, it seemed to stabilize it self in a position directly overhead. Cold fright gripped ‘Little Oliver’. He nearly lost his senses; cold fright gripped him and – then he panicked! He rushed off seeking cover, but the enormous black disc (or UFO) seemed to follow his every step. Nature took over:
He simply turned green with panic!
– – – – –

Could he possibly disappear in the shadows? Was there a way out of this, or was it all to end today? An icy cold fright gripped the roots of his heart, but no matter what he did – the black disc followed him mercilessly . . .
. . . . .

And suddenly the sun came back. Just as abrupt as it had gone away. The black disc was also gone. Nowhere in sight!  ‘Little Oliver’ blinked his eyes and surveyed the horizon in a 360 degrees sweep: No UFO !
Slowly and very cautiously he crept back into position at his old hunting spot. Testing his grip and assuring himself of his powers.  Now it was only a game of patience . . .

Actually I’ve got a bit of a bad conscience after having scared the living daylights out of this little guy! Looking at his size (3.5 mm) compared to mine, he must have thought – if he’s at all capable of focusing that far – seen me as ‘God’ or at leas as ‘Godzilla’?
Of course he got a bit wet here and there on its worst . . .?

Kind of!🙂 Had to do something about those pictures! But honestly, I suspect very few actually reads our texts.
There’s no other explanations to a number of other details we have observed over time. And I think English is somewhat overrated as a world language. May be 50-60 years ago, but I’m not so sure today!

What should be the next “world language”?

        • Seenorway says:

That is a very good question! The way things seems to be headed these days, you may guess that it would be something in the direction of a ‘SMS-language with a lot of popular abbreviations taken from 3-4 widely used languages.
I’m afraid that languages like we know them will gradually disappear, but – it will probably take a few generations yet.
Even seasoned journalists of today seem to have forgotten most av their grammer from school?!
It’s soon impossible to find an article free of faults.

I plumb forgot: You have no doubt registered the after Brexit, the EU plans to abolish English as an official EU language! It’s going to be German/French I believe, but – it won’t go unnoticed among member states where English is the main second language (like in Scandinavia) If complicated EU directives start coming in French, I see major trouble ahead!
