Kilsund – the place to be!

Yesterday I did something I should have done long ago: I visited the historic renowned fortress of Oscarsborg in the middle of the ‘Oslofjord’, but unfortunately the pictures taken has not been treated for publishing just yet, so that’s gonna be another report.
The weather, however, was quite optimal on our home journey, and it was decided that we should make a small detour through ‘Kilsund’, a small paradise on Earth.
Here we are entering the inlet of ‘Kilsund’, a narrow strait separating the small islands ‘Killingholmen’ and ‘Torvøya’ from the mainland

There is no road connectiuon to ‘Killingholmen’, thus there are only holliday cabins located on this island.
But of course, most everybody out here owns a boat for leisure activities.

We’re now gliding through the narrow strait. A shoal in the middle of the strait makes it extra narrow i the middle.

Pictures 1234Ettermiddagssolen skinner varmt og sjøen ligger blikkstille . . .
The aftenoon sun is warm and pleasant while the sea lies dead calm.
Pictures 1235Vi nærmer oss midten av sundet!
We are approaching the middle of the strait.

Cabin owners have often established places along the strait where they may observe the boat traffic while enjoying their afternoon coffee.

And in the end we’re gliding into the ‘Sætrepollen’ where our trip of the day originally started out.

If you want to see more pictures from the community of Hurum, you’ll find and old report here.
