Hof – Vestfold

Today we are really going into the contry side and visit the community of ‘Hof ‘ located in the inner parts of ‘Vestfold’. There’s not many people living in this area. Only 3060 in total of which about 750 lives in the community center.

Picture 520Vi starter vår tur ved Rådhuset!
We’re starting our little tour by the Town Hall.

More or less ‘across the road’ from the Town Hall lies the local grocery store which also functions as the local meeting place in the daily day to day struggle

And, of course, there is a bank here, even if it isn’t really big. (‘Small’, in fact! )

Picture 506Og en bensinstasjon. Selvsagt! Hva mer trenger et lite samfunn?
And a gasoline station. Of course!  So what else does a society need?
Picture 517Et bibliotek, kanskje? Sånn for alle tilfellers skyld?
Perhaps a library? Just in case?
There are also a dentist clinic side by side with the library
And in spite of the modest size anjd the number of people living here –
It’s own athletic field!

Så hvordan bor folk i denne regionen?
So how does people live in this region?
Picture 509Ganske bra, ville jeg tro?
Rather weel, I should think?
These are residential areas connected to the settlement ‘Hof’ itself.
Picture 528Picture 533Picture 526Men har da ikke et slikt sted barn, skoler osv? Jovisst har det så!
But doesn’t such a place have children? Schools? But. of course!
Picture 504Her er et bilde fra Hof skole!
Here is a picture from Hof School
Picture 497Rett over veien fra skolen ligger den lokale barnehagen.
And across the road from the school,- the local kindergarten
On the top of a small hill overlooking the area lies a relatively new residental- and activity center (Nursing home)

Og helt til slutt: Hof kirke!
Picture 499And at long last, of course there is a church!
Hof church, a so called ‘long church’ in wood and stone, built in 1150 AC
Her et bilde fra kirkegården i Hof.
Here a picture from the churchyard in Hof.

And if you feel the need for a bit of fresh air, there are vast areas surrounding Hof offering forests, lakes for fishing or swimming, hunting or varied outdoor life in almost any form.
(Compliments of SRB )

    • Seenorway says:

  2. kalabalu says:

red tiled roofs with lush green grass , floating white clouds ..

    • Seenorway says:

Yes, it’s nice in the Norwegian country side, no ?🙂

      • kalabalu says:

very nice.amazingly the sky is also pictureque🙂

        • Seenorway says:

But the sky is usually blue where ever you are? Unless there’s clouds or sand in the air?

          • kalabalu says:

clouds seems to be incomposition with the landscape at Norway😉 yes..cloud is blue so much is true, got some greys whenleft astray..seems so red.. when sun goes to bed..and I watch the sea..

            • Seenorway says:

Yes perhaps the cloud may be a bit different. That has to do with climate, I guess, but perhaps also a bit dependent on what sort of lense used.
You’ll find that skies becom much ‘wilder’ if you use a 20 mm in comparison with a 50 or 70 mm.
              Do you take pictures?

            • kalabalu says:

              of clouds ..nope

            • kalabalu says:

I have nominated you for, ” A very Inspiring Blogger Award” for checking out rules please visit my blog.
              Congrats :))

            • Seenorway says:

I feel honored, Kalabalu, and I’m thanking you from the bottom of my heart, but – it’s the thought that counts!
And as you’ll remember, you have nominated me for a number of awards on earlier occasions (and I have gracefully declined)
              (Like I do again🙂 )
It’s just taking too much time to find others to nominate that hasn’t been nominated before. And besides – I wouldn’t just nominate not knowing enough about the nominees. Which mean that I have to find them, follow them for months, read most of what they produce to see if they deserve a nomination, and it’s a lot of work, time and effort which I’d be better off using to build my blog into ever more contries, finding new contributors throughout Norway getting you all more and better photgraphs from all parts of Norway. That’s plenty of work also, but a work load I’m prepared for and have veentured to take on. The thoughts behind a nomination is appreciated, but I have noticed that there are a growing numbers that think like I do on this subject.

            • kalabalu says:

yes..thank you for your hardwork in making the blog as you have done ..it is my nomination, I do follow blogs😉
